Biography

Dr. Guru Prasad Srinivasan currently working as Associate professor at Centre for Global Health Research in Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai. He has obtained his Ph.D., in Marine Microbiology from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, India - His doctoral work was on “Immunomodulatory effect in Penaeid shrimps against white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) infection”. He has published in peer reviewed journals like Scientific reports, IJBIOMAC, Chemosphere, Phytochemistry etc., He has 5 Indian patents and 1 International patent to his credit. His expertise are Marine Microbial technology, Immuno-Molecular Biology and Neurodegeneration Sciences. He was a part of the research team for the International research exchange programme in the Indo-Norway collaboration project titled “InNoVacc: Indo-Norwegian platform for the development of candidate vaccines for invertebrate, piscine and avian species” funded by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India (2008-2012). Dr. Guru worked at the Department of Aquatic Health and Infectious Diseases at the Norwegian Veterinary High School (NVH), Oslo, Norway. He has also served as researcher in Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University from 2009 to 2011 on developing replicative molecular leads for shrimp vaccination. He has collaborated with Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), University of Oklahoma Health Sciences, ICGEB, New Delhi, FCRI - Tuticorin, University of Bergen, Norway, MSSRF - Chennai, CDFD - Hyderabad.
