Biography

Dr. Lakshmi is an exceptionally dynamic and passionate professional boasting over 18 years of experience in academia and research. With a proactive and positive can-do attitude, she demonstrates strong leadership skills and a proven track record in career advancement. Dr. Lakshmi earned her Master's degree in Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology from Dr ALM PG IBMS, Taramani Campus, University of Madras, and obtained her doctorate from SIMATS, specializing in Pharmacology. She was also a certified as an International Auditor for Environmental Management, Occupational Health Safety, and Food Safety by Bureau Veritas. Her research focuses on Medicinal and Natural Product Sciences, Drug Discovery, Pharmacology, and Toxicology, resulting in over 450 publications in Scopus and 221 in Web of Science indexed journals. With a cumulative impact factor of 672, her work has garnered over 11,000 citations, reflecting an impressive h-index of 45. In her current position as Professor and Head of CGHR, Dr. Lakshmi serves as a Co-Principal Investigator for grants from ICMR and AYUSH, with a combined value of 149 lakh.
