Biography

Prof. Meghashyam Bhat, Ph.D., is a Professor of Public Health Dentistry at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bengaluru, India, and a Distinguished Adjunct Professor at Saveetha University, Chennai, India. He also serves as a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide, Australia.

Prof. Bhat focuses on addressing oral health inequities in underserved rural populations. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. from the University of Adelaide, diplomas from the Royal College of Surgeons in England and Edinburgh, and dual master's degrees: an MPH from University College Cork, Ireland, and an MDS in Community Dentistry from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

With over 50 published scientific articles, an h-index of 17, and nearly 1000 citations on Google Scholar, Prof. Bhat has a strong research record. He has received Australian Government fellowships and a gold medal from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

Prof. Bhat is an Editorial Board Member for BMC Oral Health and an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE and the International Journal of Dentistry. His work has fostered international research collaborations.

With over two decades of teaching experience, Prof. Bhat excels in public health dentistry, mentoring dental students at both graduate and postgraduate levels. He is a prominent figure in Public Health, combining academic expertise, impactful research, and a commitment to global oral health challenges.
