Biography
Professor Lam holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University, and is currently a tenured Professor and Director of International Centre of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. He is Professional Technologist (Ts./P.Tech) for Green Technology by the Malaysia Board of Technologists. Lam is a Fellow of the International Association for Carbon Capture, Region Representatives of the Australasian Practical Zero Emissions Society, Central Council Member of International Bioprocessing Association, and Steering Committee Member of the Asia Technological University Network. He leads a research group working mainly on Chemical & Environmental Engineering, focusing on Thermal-chemical Process, Waste Treatment & Biomass Refinery, Green Technology, and Pollution Identification & Mitigation. He is active in research on the application of thermochemical processes such as pyrolysis, hydrothermal carbonization, and microwave heating in transforming waste and biomass into green energy and products applicable to industry and environmental protection. He has secured many research grants, file patents and commercialize inventions from his research team, and publishing many articles in journals, including high-impact papers in prestigious journals such as Lancet, Nature, Science, Nature Food, Progress in Energy and Combustion Science, Applied Catalysis B Environmental, Advanced Composites and Hybrid Materials, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, and Chemical Engineering Journal. He holds a H-index of 84 with more than 23,500 citations on Google Scholar and a Scopus H-index of 76 with over 19,500 citations.
